New Business Development Engineer
New Orleans based opportunity to work for a leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of positioning technology for the marine industry. This is a product development, demonstration and training role in support of Sales and Business Development, finding applications for existing technologies and uses for new technologies.
The Role will include but not be limited to:
Develop and strengthen relationships with existing customers and develop new customers for marine product portfolio in North America
Organize and conduct product trials across the US
Work with customer engineers, buyers and specifiers to propose solutions that will deliver added value into their businesses
Analyze and quantify opportunities for technology and new products in new market sectors especially the inland waterway sector
Work with product development team by helping to define new product specifications according to market needs
Attend exhibitions, conferences, industry forums, where there will be opportunities to present the company's technology
Support Company training function
Enhance profile and raise awareness of products with vessel owners/operators, Dynamic Positioning partners, shipyards and system integrators. Build strategic relationships with the powerbase and key stake holders within existing and new markets
A strong technical background, preferably in engineered products.
Highly flexible and willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time
Hands on, practical individual willing to get involved at an operations level with the equipment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of seniority.
Willingness to organize and manage customer product training events where required.
College level qualification in an engineering or business discipline.
Experience in the Maritime industry, preferably within the Bridge.
Previous experience in a sales role within the inland waterways or offshore marine industries.
